Our Pastor and Wife

Charles E. Becknell, Jr. came to Emmanuel in 1997 and began ministry training under the leadership of his father, Reverend Charles Becknell, Sr.  In 1998 he was licensed to preach and one year later he was ordained and elevated to Associate Minister.  After serving in this capacity for 8 years, he married a phenomenal woman of God and then became the Associate Pastor.

Today, his wife Penny is the Director of Christian Education and Reverend Becknell, Jr. serves as the Senior Pastor, bringing to their new positions a vision that is grounded in teaching God’s Word, prayer and worship, cultivating relationship, and inspiring a desire to serve.

Pastor Becknell’s practical teaching reveals Gods truth in a way that draws out, produces, and welcomes questions. Following the example of Jesus Christ, he uses everything at his disposal to teach biblically deep principles that lead to repentance, healing, deliverance and community renewal.

Pastor Becknell, Jr. and Penny understand that people today face difficulties in all areas of their lives.  Therefore, the last thing people need is a worship experience that makes them feel guilty.  They need a church where they can experience God’s deliverance and be challenged to grow both individually and collectively. Together, they lead and encourage people from all walks of life to become partners with Jesus Christ and all other believers, to serve others, and to make a real difference in our world.
